Willow's Puppies Two Weeks Old

It's always amazing to see how much our puppies grow from week to week.  It's also interesting to see the developmental differences between litters of puppies.  Willow is a momma dog who makes LOTS of milk and that is quite evident in the size of her puppies. With lots of milk and only 7 puppies to feed . . . these puppies are quite healthy, but still mostly interested in eating and sleeping.  They all have their eyes open but there's little interest in walking around and playing (and no need to introduce puppy food yet).

We hope you enjoy these pictures. Maybe by this weekend they'll be walking around/playing and we can post a short video.  Enjoy!

Chevy's Puppies 3 Weeks Old

Over the weekend we moved Chevy's puppies out to a room in our barn to give them more room to run and play. They've adjusted to their new home just fine and seem to enjoy having more space to explore. We did a quick photo shoot yesterday so families can see puppies grouped by color/sex.  We hope you enjoy the photos of the 3-week-old puppies!

Chevy's Puppies - A Messy First Meal!

Chevy's puppies really got into their first meal last week! We introduced them to "smush" (puppy food softened in warm water) and they loved it. The puppies are still nursing from Momma Chevy but adding some puppy food helps make sure these growing puppies are getting enough to eat.

We hope you enjoy this short video clip of their first taste of puppy food!

Willow's Puppies One Week Old

Willow's puppies are one week old today they are growing like crazy! Her puppies are all quite content and we love watching them sleep and snuggle.

We hope you enjoy their one week photos. The puppies snuggled right into this fuzzy, purple blanket (a great backdrop for all of those yellow/white puppies). Enjoy!

Chevy's Puppies Two Weeks Old

Chevy's puppies were 2 weeks old yesterday and they are doing great! The puppies all have their eyes open and from the video below you'll see they are getting much more active (although they still spend the majority of the time sleeping . . . they have a lot of growing to do!) Chevy has had a smooth recovery from surgery and her stitches will be coming out yet today.

We hope you enjoy these short videos . . . puppy playtime at 5:45 in the morning and feeding time just a bit later. Too cute!

And some more puppy pictures . . .

Chevy's Puppies - Pictures from Week One

We've had a busy week with Chevy and her puppies.  We kept a very close eye on Chevy on Monday and Tuesday as she recovered from the anesthesia.  We needed to be sure she was fully aware of her puppies and willing to accept them . . . not always the case when dogs have a c-section.  Fortunately, Chevy's maternal instincts kicked right in and she's doing a phenomenal job with her new babies. She's also recovering nicely from surgery - eating and drinking plenty and incision is healing nicely.

While most of the puppies are growing bigger every day, we're sorry to share that we did lose one black male puppy this morning.  He was the smallest puppy in the litter and despite our best attempts to help supplement with puppy formula, and make sure he was warm . . . he didn't make it.

We hope you enjoy these puppy pictures from Week One.  Stay tuned for more great photos and videos as our puppies grow!

FYI . . .We still have five puppies available from this litter - 2 black males, 2 yellow males and 1 black female. Please give us a call if you're interested in reserving a puppy for your family!

Eleven New Puppies on the Farm - Chevy & Maverick's Litter

We're pleased to announce the birth of 11 new puppies on our farm! While the delivery was not quite as planned, we were pleased to come home from our vet yesterday with 11 healthy puppies and our Momma Dog Chevy (still a bit sleepy but doing just fine).

Chevy went into labor late Sunday evening and when labor was not progressing Monday morning we made a trip to our vet for an emergency c-section. Result of the successful surgery . . . six black puppies and five yellow puppies. After surgery Chevy was still very sleepy so late yesterday afternoon and throughout the night we supervised nursing pups every two hours.

Chevy is much more alert and has taken right to caring for her puppies today - thank goodness!

Puppy count looks like this:
Yellow Puppies:  4 Males, 1 Female
Black Puppies: 3 Males, 3 Females

We are still accepting deposits for puppies from Chevy's litter. If you are interested in a black or yellow male puppy just let us know!

Here are a few pictures from yesterday and today. Enjoy!
